Calling all volunteers!
We have officially begun our watershed survey process! Our first steering committee meeting takes place this Friday January 30th with a couple volunteer members of the association, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District.
Friday May 22nd (and possibly Saturday May 23rd, 2026) will be our boots on the ground at the lake! This will be a unique and fun day where we will ask for volunteers to help us complete the survey of the many properties within the watershed, and all around the lake itself. But to join us, you will have to train how to become a lake surveyor. This will take place during a FUN two hour online video session with Maine DEP representatives. This 2 hour training is mandatory for all volunteers. This training and survey day will also be a nice way to see again or meet some town and lake neighbors..
We will provide drinks/snacks/lunch for all volunteers on the actual survey day, which will take place roughly between 9AM and 3PM. More details to follow..
There will also be additional volunteer opportunities on the steering committee, as well as helping us to prepare for the Watershed Survey day.
Please email Scott at “TrippLakeSurvey2026@gmail.com” to become a volunteer (or with any questions)- please include in the subject line “Tripp Lake Survey Volunteer”.
